Terms and Conditions
The mission of Compass Education is to empower and connect learning communities to educate and act for a sustainable future. We believe that engaging educators in thoughtful conversations that encourage deep thinking, open sharing and constructive feedback is an opportunity to build community and make a difference in the world.
Achieving these missions requires a community of both inclusion and intellectual vibrancy. We aspire to create a learning environment of trust and mutual respect for all people—regardless of ability, age, culture, ethnicity, national origin, political views, race, religion, sex/gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic class, or any aspect of one’s background or identity.
Learning is enhanced when one productively engages across differences. At the same time, we aspire to create a learning environment where individuals can have open discussion and debates, and learn to question settled assumptions, dominant ideologies, and conventional wisdom healthily with one another. To that end, we believe it is essential for all participants to exemplify and uphold these
Community Values:
- Respect for the rights, differences, and dignity of others
- Honest and ethical preparation and submission of work
- Honesty and integrity in dealing with all members of the community
- Professional language, behavior and subject content at all times
Community members have a personal responsibility to integrate these values into every aspect of their experience in this course. Through our personal commitment to these values, we can create an environment in which all can achieve their full potential.

To foster a rich dialogue, some of the contributions you make on the course platform throughout the course will be shared with other participants in your cohort in the form of discussions. In choosing which type of information to share, it is your responsibility to keep in mind local school and district policies related to disclosing confidential and/or personally identifiable information, including, but not limited to, information relating to minors and teachers.
